How do I search through resumes/CVs?

To quickly find a candidate you can type their name, phone number or email address into the quick search control in the primary navigation.

To search through all of the resumes in your account you’ll need to visit the Candidate Manager and open the “All filters” control:

The “All filters” control opens up a drawer. Check the box next to “Search by Keywords.” Type your query into the “Resume or CV” input and voila! You are searching all of the resumes in your account:

When you search this way JobScore shows the highlighted text from the resume in the results on the Candidate Manager:

Here are a few tips when you search by keyword:

  • Your search can contain Boolean search operators including & (AND), | (OR), ! (NOT), () (groups), and “” (phrase search).
  • By default, all words in your search are joined with an implicit AND operator, so "hello world" means that both "hello" AND "world" must be present in order to be a match.
  • The OR operator takes precedence over the implicit AND, so searching for "cat | dog | mouse" means "(cat OR dog OR mouse)" not "cat AND (dog OR mouse)"
  • Negation (the NOT operator) is only allowed at the top level. It is not supported in parenthesis (groups).

From the candidate manager you do much more than search resumes. You can also:

  1. Search candidate notes.
  2. Combine keyword searches with filters. That means you can limit a search to only consider candidates with a certain tag, that are in a specific workflow stage, who answer a question in a certain way, and more.
  3. Search information JobScore parses from resumes, including:
    • Employers: Searches the employment section of candidate records, including current, past or all employers
    • Job Titles: Searches the employment section of candidate records, including current, past or all job titles.
    • Schools: Searches the education section of candidate records
    • Majors: Searches the education section of candidate records

You can also customize how search results appear and export them. Here’s where you adjust the columns shown on the candidate manager and save & share filters.
