Tags are a great way to hold onto candidates that may not be suitable at the immediate moment, but could be a perfect fit down the road.
Instead of assigning a candidate to an open job, tag these candidates by the skill-set or job that you feel they would be the best fit. For example, instead of assigning a candidate to an open job called DevOps Engineer, simply add a "DevOps" tag to the candidate. Once these tags are in place, the next time you re-open that particular job or start a new sourcing/research project, you'll be able to quickly pull up all the candidates with that particular tag.
