Summary
Indeed wants to make sure they are sending job seekers to the correct source of truth for jobs while reducing duplicate jobs and improving their jobs marketplace.
What is happening?
On August 19, 2024, Indeed announced a new policy for the United States that allows organic visibility to one source of jobs.
Jobs that are indexed to Indeed from sources such as their career site or ATS are typically allowed organic visibility (unless visibility is limited for other reasons). If your jobs are already indexed to Indeed, any job that you post directly on Indeed will need to be sponsored. You will no longer be eligible to receive free traffic to both indexed jobs and jobs posted directly to Indeed.
Who is impacted?
Clients who have indexed jobs and also post jobs directly to Indeed will receive a notification via email and in the Indeed interface that they will be impacted when the new policy goes into effect in October. Impacted clients would need to sponsor their hosted jobs for those jobs to be shown.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Indeed deprecating organic traffic?
No. Clients will still be eligible to receive organic traffic. Clients who want to receive organic traffic on their indexed jobs can utilize ATS integrations and Indexed Jobs Management to maximize the capabilities of those jobs. ATS clients whose indexed jobs are not a full representation of their hiring need should ensure all hiring users’ needs are reflected in their ATS.
